For over 30 years, Dawn dishwashing liquid has been an important part of rescuing and releasing more than 75,000 animals affected by oil pollution. We’ve donated thousands of bottles to wildlife rescue workers at The Marine Mammal Center and International Bird Rescue. The little things we do can help make a big difference.
The Marine Mammal Center Feeding May 2010 This clip gives lunch hour rush a whole new meaning.
Dawn knows that even the smallest things can help make a big difference. Like when you wash the dishes with Dawn dishwashing liquid, you’re using a brand that supports wildlife rescue efforts. In addition to bottles of Dawn, this year we’re donating a million dollars to wildlife rescue organizations International Bird Rescue and the Marine Mammal Center.
Watch how together we’re saving wildlife in The Big Picture at Dawn Saves Wildlife, then thank a rescue worker and add your message to the mosaic to become a part of the Big Picture.
The Marine Mammal Center (TMMC)
TMMC is a state-of-the-art nonprofit veterinary hospital and research center made up of over 1,000 volunteers. Since 1975, they’ve dedicated themselves to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured, or orphaned marine mammals like seals, sea lions, and dolphins. Based in Sausalito, California, TMMC also doubles as an education center, teaching more than 100,000 kids and adults each year about the animals, ocean health, and connections we all share.
Dawn’s donations to TMMC are vital to its core mission: To give marine mammals a second chance at life, expand awareness of the earth’s oceans and its inhabitants, and to inspire care and conservation in future generations.

International Bird Rescue (IBR)
Founded in 1971, International Bird Rescue is a nonprofit wildlife organization committed to caring for birds affected by both natural and man-made disasters, such as oil spills and marine debris. Each year, IBR’s two world-class centers in California care for over 5,000 animals, including pelicans, herons, albatrosses, and other aquatic bird species. Their spill response teams have led rescue efforts in over 200 spills across six continents. And since 1978, they’ve trusted Dawn®, whose grease-fighting formula is tough on oil, yet gentle on animals.
Dawn’s donation helps support IBR’s rehabilitation and research programs, as well as its growing volunteer network and educational programs that inspire our next generation of wildlife champions.
