Is Dawn^® dish soap safe around children?
Yes. Dawn products have been thoroughly assessed and are safe. While some Dawn dish soap ingredients are listed on the bottle, others are proprietary. Why should I involve my family in dishwashing?
Involving your family in the dishes makes a chore into a family activity. It's a great way to get everyone working as a team. At first, this may be more time-consuming than time-saving, but it's a smart investment of your effort. As your children grow older and take on more tasks, they'll develop a sense of responsibility and even enjoy the sense of accomplishment they get from completing daily tasks. Just be sure to provide adult supervision at all times.

How can my family help clean up the kitchen after we eat?
This is a great first step to getting your child involved in helping wash the dishes. Even small children can participate in simple ways like helping set the table before a meal or gathering used napkins to throw away after a meal. Eventually they can help dry and put away some dishes.

Does Dawn dishwashing liquid help fight germs on hands?
Dawn offers antibacterial versions of several dish liquids. These products have an added ingredient, triclosan, which helps fight germs on your hands when used as hand soap. Should I be concerned about bacterial resistance as a result of using antibacterial hand soap?
No. According to the Soap & Detergent Association, "In the more than 30 years that antibacterial wash products have been used by consumers and medical professionals, we have not seen any evidence that their use contributes to antibiotic resistance." Is Dawn safe for school science experiments?
Yes, for simple studies and experiments only with adult supervision provided at all times. Our consumers say they have used Dawn to study the surfactants it contains that cause solids, like ground pepper, to scatter on its surface. While you can safely mix dish soap with household food ingredients and water, do not mix Dawn products with other household cleaning products or abrasive chemicals like bleach.
