Dawn Saves Wildlife – You Can Make A Difference With Dawn

Over the last 30 years, the success rate for wildlife rescue from oil pollution has increased exponentially. Dawn dishwashing liquid has been a vital tool for wildlife conservation organizations, with thousands of donated bottles cleansing and helping more than 75,000 animals in the last 30 years.

In collaboration with our partners at The Marine Mammal Center and Bird Rescue, we have developed an exceptional education program that teaches educators, families and children about the impact of oil on wildlife and the science behind wildlife rehabilitation. The Marine Mammal Center (TMMC)

The Marine Mammal Center is a nonprofit veterinary hospital, research and educational center dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of ill and injured marine mammals—primarily elephant seals, harbor seals and California sea lions—and to the study of their health. Since 1975, the Center has been headquartered in the Marin Headlands, within the Golden Gate National Parks, and has rescued and treated more than 17,000 marine mammals.

Dawn’s donations to the Center support its mission: to expand knowledge about marine mammals—their health and that of their ocean environment—and to inspire their global conservation. The Center’s core work is the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured marine mammals, supported by state-of-the-art animal care and research facilities, a corps of dedicated volunteers, and an engaged community.

Each year the Center’s education programs teach thousands of students and the public about marine mammals, what they can tell us about ocean health and the urgent need for stewardship of Earth's marine environments.

International Board Rescue

International Bird Rescue (Bird Rescue) has been saving seabirds and other aquatic birds around the world since 1971. Bird Rescue's team of specialists operates two year-round aquatic bird rescue centers in California, which care for over 5,000 birds every year and have led oiled wildlife rescue efforts for over 200 oil spills in more than a dozen countries. Bird Rescue has trusted Dawn to save oiled birds since 1978.

Dawn’s® donations to International Bird Rescue help support its programming, which consists of the operation of wildlife hospitals to develop better treatments for aquatic life, a vast volunteer network, as well as education programs and training for oil spill response.
